From The Desk Of Pat Wedeking
Last month’s article in this
spot was some real meat…If you want hands on, money making tips,
check
that out.
The month before, on the 10th
anniversary of my father’s death, was
my best attempt at a meaningful message.
So this month is my praise for
you, a look ahead and some valuable announcements.
Congratulations on being here.
Whatever your path in life that has brought you to this place, I commend you. We
each have our stories; our challenges; our victories. We each have a unique set
of attributes and potential for growth…The question for each of us is, “What
will we do with what we have?”
We all serve people in getting
insurance and financial products in the hands of those who need them. We agree
on how good this business can be. In fact, I contend that, with proper
communication, we’d all agree on many, many things. I agree with you that a BGA
organization should earn their override. No more good ol boy networks where the
upline does nothing but cash checks. You would probably agree with me that
agents can and should produce more. And we sure agree that the carriers and
paramed companies could do better.
With common ground between us,
what will we do with what we have? Well, our mission at Only Financial Group
is to serve you in profitable ways. Plain and simple, we know that if you do
well, we’ll be fine. And so we will serve you, that is what we’ll do. We are
fast at work implementing new technologies, selectively bringing on carriers and
increasing our level of support. How about a look at some things we have
developing for or future together?

Direct Response Selling - How
Tough is it?
By Richard H.
For
sometime now, I have been looking for a home based business which is virtual,
has unlimited income potential, could be built at my own pace, and would have
the ability to survive for years.
Last
January, I met a childhood friend, who is a CPA in Beverly Hills, for a Sunday
brunch. I told him that I thought that my current employment at that time would
soon come to an end. I was correct about the job ending and in the latter part
of February my position was eliminated.
My friend told me that he had
a client in the San Fernando Valley who had a background similar to mine. He
told me that Lenny had been selling life insurance for several years through the
Internet and that it might be worth a call to him to learn more about this new
way of selling. It seemed like a perfect fit.

Travel Makes Perfect
Personal contact, personal relationship building is at the core of
everything we do that makes us successful. You’ve to go no further than
your best clients to see the validity of this. I spent time with a good
client in the last 10 days that is a cancer survivor still undergoing
treatment. There are many things we wished we had done, but the
consensus was we were pleased with the protection put in place for his
family. It’s a success story built on the relationship we’ve cultivated
over the years. There’s trust, friendship and mutual admiration.
Is it different with Direct Response
selling?
Direct Response selling is different in that distance now separates us
from our clients, but the level of conversation and exchange that occurs
in the buying process is such that lasting relationships still form
between client and agent. Granted, it takes more phone conversations to
develop what used to be done in a few face-to-face appointments, it
nonetheless DOES continue to happen. Unfortunately this is not the case
with the other relationship involved in the transaction. I’m speaking
now of the relationship between Agent and General Agent.
In the captive days we had almost the same type of closeness and
relationship with our GA and carriers as we did with our clients. There
was a sense of “partnership” and the feeling that the supporting cast
was there to facilitate our success, not become a barrier to it, as it
seems agents often feel today in this new independent environment. Do
you have the relationship with us you need to be successful??
And how about with the carriers??

Design Your Future
By
Mark Meurer
The
Internet has many facets and it has changed the way people think and do
business. It is the greatest communication and information-sharing device known
to humankind and it’s all in one location. The Internet is so powerful that a
single person can build a multi-million dollar business from the keyboard of one
computer!
As we all
know, term insurance is a commodity. It’s a product driven by price and with
very few moving parts. Simply put, it’s easy to sell. The challenge then is
gathering information with ease, communicating effectively with your prospect,
and then being able to swiftly offer a solid carrier product at competitive
pricing. That’s what the Internet allows and that’s what we offer to interested
agents here at Only Financial Group--technology with web-enabled tools.
What are
the financial possibilities? Prior to the Internet it took a long time for a
business owner to amass a billion dollars:
-
Henry Ford 23 years
-
Sam Walton 20 years
-
Bill Gates 12 years

Sales
Tip of the Month
Summer is a GOOD
time to sell life insurance…IF you work and IF you can make contact with
people. Work the hours when folks are home and let’s serve our prospects in
this season when they are thinking more about their families. They travel more,
spend time with family more, however, not everyone is on a vacation. In fact,
the actual percentage is quite low at any given time. Adjust your working hours
a bit and then get after it. Do NOT let Summer time be an excuse for you,
instead, make it the hottest season for your business all year. You CAN do it.
