…Often a time to say Thank You. I want to personally thank you for your
contributions to my life and for giving us a chance to earn your
business. Together, we’ll meet and exceed our production goals for this year
and we consider this a tremendous foundation for great things to come.
…Often a time to reflect. As I look back on the year I see several memories
that will be with me forever. I count each one of the relationships developed
as a value and responsibility for us. I see some opportunities for learning and
I have tremendous pride in our operation.
…And, a time to plan. Allow me to encourage you to really take some time this
month and make a plan for next year.

Things are Rockin’
in the lead-generation department of OFG!
As we announced at the OFG Summit in Denver, we tested radio as a way to
generate leads in the fourth quarter of 2003. The test was successful
and we will be expanding the effort beginning the week of January 5,
2004.
We learned, through testing, that radio advertising can effectively
produce leads and these leads are significantly different from leads
generated via email. For example:

Phone numbers:
Email-generated leads have a 40% incidence of two phone numbers;
radio-generated leads have a 60% incidence of two phone numbers.

Cell numbers: 20%
for email leads; 40% for radio leads.
- Conclusion: Radio leads have more contact numbers and should, therefore, be more accessible to reach.

Average premium:
Email leads = $591; radio leads = $725.
-
Average age:
Email leads = 42; radio leads= 47
- Conclusion: Higher comp for radio leads.

Impaired risk:
Email leads = 18%; radio leads = 5%
- Conclusion: Cleaner leads.

Average Income:
Email leads = $40,000; radio leads=$70,000
- Conclusion: Better ability to pay.

Interview with Mike Wedeking

Our annual year-end Seattle meeting concluded this past week and I left with new
information about lead production, new lead programs and the impact of recent
legislation. Below are some questions I asked Mike Wedeking, Chief Marketing
Officer of InsuranceOnly, while visiting with him in Seattle.
Mike, we’ve all been following the progress of recent SPAM legislation. What
specifically does this mean to direct response selling and lead generation?
In a lot of ways it impacts InsuranceOnly and OFG VERY
little. This is not to say there’s no impact, but as you know we moved away
from SPAM some time ago. BULK mailers might see some challenges, but for now, even
that is minimized. The Federal anti-spam law President Bush signed this week
will still allow legitimate BULK mailers to continue to run, whereas
before it looked like ALL email sent to an ISP over 5 at a time would be deemed
SPAM. For these folks it appeared that email was “dead”, but it’s now “alive”
again.

OFG Impaired Risk
Process
Go to
http://onlyfinancialgroup.com/ofg/questions.html.
You will be presented with a questionaire to complete detailing your
client's health condition. The first page is the client info. At the
bottom of client info page select the health condition that best
describes your prospects condition. That will bring up a specific
questionaire for that condition. Answer all the questions presented and
hit "submit". You are done.
You will be
emailed a proposal within 24 hours to present to your client. US
Financial will be quoted first and if they are not able to take your
client on a favorable basis then Brokers Alliance will shop to find a
carrier who will. If simplied issue or guaranteed issue are necessary
they will present you with that option also.
At anytime if you need
assistance or wish to "pass the case
off" to Greg Hellmich,
you can by emailing him at

Otherwise follow the process above. If the case is declined out
right, or if you know your client will not accept the premium rate
that's offered, the case will be sent to Greg Hellmich to arrange a 3
way teleconference with you and your client. He will handle the
placement process of the rated policy or move it to guaranteed issue
in that call.
