NEW INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION BORN FROM SECOND ANNUAL DIRECT RESPONSE SALES SUMMIT
Comprised of top industry executives, the first professional association supporting direct marketers in the life insurance industry
SEATTLE, WA. – (Oct. 7, 2004)
Hosted by Only Financial Group (OFG), the 2nd Annual Direct Response Sales Summit recently drew many of the top direct life insurance marketers to the Adams Mark Hotel in Denver, CO.
Attendees included representatives from such top companies as TermOnly, Relia Quote, Intelliquote, InsWeb, NewTek, Direct Response Financial and Only Financial Group. Numerous carriers also attended and provided presentations including AIG American General, West Coast Life, Zurich, LabOne/Intellisys, Brokers Alliance and Universal Insurance Services. Keynote speakers included Mike and Pat Wedeking of InsuranceOnly, Shervin Eftekhari from Relia Quote, Jeff McCauley from Intellisys, Travis Phillips from Direct Response Financial, Stephen Kennedy of AIG American General and Mike Sladek of Zurich/One Life.
"The increased attendance and executive level of attendees at this year's Summit is further proof that direct response selling is continuing to grow as a larger part of the revenue mix of nationwide agencies," said Wedeking. "We expect attendance and interest in the Summit to grow next year and we are researching new facilities to accommodate a larger event."
Content at the Summit focused on the growing niche of direct response selling of life insurance policies. Presentations and workshops at the event discussed process of direct response selling, available technologies and effective techniques direct response companies are utilizing to sell large volumes of life insurance nationally from one central location without intruding into clients' homes or offices.
A major result of the Summit is the creation of a Direct Marketing Group. Comprised of industry leaders in direct life insurance selling, this group will focus on solutions with consumers, carriers, regulators and vendors to promote the proliferation of the direct selling process. The group will be officially chartered in 2005.
