To Meet The Guru

It IS the correct analogy. OFG
agents, staff and national vendors departed on Thursday September 30th
to converge on the “mountain top”, the mile high city of Denver, Colorado.
There they visited the “gurus” of direct response selling. There they met the
vendors and leaders reshaping the insurance industry. Who attended?

Pat Wedeking, President of
InsuranceOnly, opened and framed the second annual OFG Direct Response Sales
Summit as the portal access to a “million dollar opportunity”. Over the next
three days the audience saw no less than 22 speakers with focused information on
direct response selling, best practices, sales secrets and the introduction of
new technology to speed success.
An Array of Speakers
The array of speakers covered
the basics of the approach and creating a “sense” of urgency. Company founders
shared insights on their rapid growth and designs on the future. Lead
generation, and enhanced delivery systems via LeadBoss were rolled out. Carrier
Executives and Underwriters engaged both agents and management on processes to
speed underwriting and leverage technology to swell policy issue volumes.
If this wasn’t enough, panel
discussions covered a wide range of topics in small room settings to encourage
dialog and exchange. New up-selling and cross-selling systems were rolled out
including a new online direct mail program that will facilitate the sale of DI,
Annuities, UL and LTC. Product experts discussed the integration of these
products with direct response systems as agents questioned them about the nuts
and bolts of processes they found of personal interest.
A Call to Action
Dr. Ron Caskey closed the
meeting on the third day with, “If you WANT what you’ve never had, you must
DO what you’ve never done.” Those attending understand Dr. Caskey’s call to
embrace change and to “step out” of old patterns. Did you make it to the
Summit? Will you DO next year what you’ve never done and enjoy the success
you’ve always wanted?
By all standards the meeting
was a success. Many friendships were renewed and many more created. In the
final evening contact numbers and emails were exchanged among those in
attendance. Notable were those present for their second time at the Denver
Summit. In every case these organizations and agents were enjoying
significant growth in production over the previous year. It’s no wonder why
they returned this year and then commented on departure, “See you all next
October at the Summit……………”
